Regional publisher acquires two magazines

A regional publisher has acquired two magazines and will merge them with its existing titles, it has been announced.

Archant Life has bought the Wye Valley Life and Life in The Marches titles for an undisclosed sum from Wye Valley Media Ltd.

The magazines will merge with Archant Life’s Herefordshire Life under the titles Herefordshire Life and Wye Valley Life plus Herefordshire Life and Life in The Marches.

There will be no redundancies under the move, which will see Wye Valley staff transfer to Archant Life.

Herefordshire Life editor Joanne Goodwin said: “This is the coming together of the county’s leading magazines and is very good news for readers, advertisers and staff.

“We will retain and extend the best of both titles with an emphasis on the fantastic people, places, property and produce of the region promoted through our titles and regional and national websites.”

The magazines will be run from the former Wye Valley Media offices at Lugwardine and the Archant Life Midlands regional office in Birmingham.

Heidi Chamberlain-Jones, Wye Valley Media publisher and founder, will help ensure a smooth hand-over before leaving to pursue other interests.

She said: “I am looking forward to seeing our much loved magazines become stronger and even more exciting as part of the Archant stable.

“I am sure that advertisers and readers alike will enjoy the benefits of this amalgamation and I wish everyone involved success for the future.”

Let’s face it – the same advertorial can run through all the titles.

Editorial + Advertorial = big magazine, better service for readers and advertisers and job security for staff. Take it Mr/Mrs Scribbler either doesn’t know the mag/s or is out of a job.
