Friday Funnies: It's back to the 70s in Cornwall

Apologies to those comedy seekers who landed on HTFP on Good Friday if you were disappointed at the lack of, what has become, a weekly fill of mirth.

Fear not – we’re back with another set of amusing moments from the press and media, all gratefully received at HTFP Towers. Thanks and please keep them coming to: [email protected].

It’s off to Cornwall and the land where, according to this web story, cutting edge policing has a distinctly Life on Mars feel about it!!

Thankfully, a caption in the in-print version explained that the new regional crime squad referred to in the story was being codenamed Zephyr – after the cars used in 70s police drama Z Cars.

More crime news from the North West where Greater Manchester Police are surely being a trifle pedantic in this online report of twins jailed for murder:

For those of you who have been on holiday over the past fortnight, or on Mars, or on holiday on Mars…..here’s an unfortunate byline from The Times:

Is this headline without a story the ultimate online teaser from thisisbristol?

And finally, Press Gazette runs a digest of journalism jobs including those featured on HTFP. We particularly liked this one for an Aberdeen-based ‘Hollywood reporter’…..who says there isn’t a market for celebrity news and gossip?

Good to see editor Dominic Ponsford taking it in good spirits though:
