A warm sense of self-satisfaction is now not the only reward youngsters can get for ‘doing their good deed’ for the day.
Police in some parts of Devon have agreed to reward young people for picking up litter or helping old people across the road by giving them shop vouchers or free movie tickets. The scheme is called ‘motiv8′.
Is this just a case of unnecessarily praising teenagers for something most people would consider basic good manners?
Or would local beat bobbies and community support officers actually support doing something similar on your patch?
