Reporter to cycle from London to Paris

A cross-Channel cycling adventure awaits a reporter aiming to raise money for an African children’s project.

Rebecca Lowe, from the Times Series, is hoping to ride 270 miles from London to Paris over four days next month.

Donations the 27-year-old collects will go to the Educational Frontier Trust (EFT), an organisation that supports the Kisima Pastoralists’ Centre, a charity for children from northern Kenya.

Rebecca said: “The last time I got on my bike, I rode half a mile, the chain came off and I crashed headfirst into a wheelie bin on the kerb. So this is going to be a real challenge for me and it would be great if people could give me their support.

“The charity is a very worthy one and just a few pounds could make a big difference.”

The area of Kenya where the charity operates suffers from droughts, attacks by bandits and a lack of basic public services. The charity aims to overcome these for the benefit of local children.
