Former newspaper editor launches new career

A former regional press editor is launching a new career as a media consultant offering a range of services.

Robert Lloyd, left, stood down as editor of the Northcliffe-owned Llanelli Star and Carmarthen Journal last November, saying he wanted to seek pastures new.

He has now set himself up as a media consultant, offering news, public relations, marketing, copy-writing and ghost-writing services.

And already, Robert has built up an impressive roster of clients including the Central Office of Information, the Welsh Assembly Government, Evan Evans Brewery and Welsh Premier League football team Carmarthen Town AFC.

He said: “After deciding to opt for new pastures at the tail end of last year, I have spent a few months researching the market and building a list of clients.”

His new company was official launched on Friday at a new gastro pub for Evan Evans Brewery in Cathedral Road, Cardiff.

Robert has also started work on a biograpghy of former Llanelli Scarlets, Wales and British Lions full-back Terry Davies.
