New motors ad website for north-west publisher

The CN Group – publishers of the Carlisle News & Star – has launched a motors advertising website searchable at postcode level.

The system allows car dealers to manage their own section and uploads ads directly and was launched with a £50,000 local press advertising campaign.

clickin2motors.co.uk contains a database of trade and private vehicles and is the latest in the ‘clickin2′ series.

The CN Group has recently launched clickin2property.co.uk and clickin2jobs.co.uk.


Dave Cook from The Scotsman has been crowned Regional Games Columnist of the Year.

He beat writers from the Liverpool Echo, Dundee Evening Telegraph, Press Association and Metro to pick up the gong from video games trade magazine MCV.

The awards were hosted by comedian Tom Stade at Jongleurs Comedy Club, in London.


A VIP drinks reception is being held at the Embassy of Ireland in aid of the Journalists’ Charity.

The event, in London on November 4, will be hosted by the Irish Ambassador David Cooney.

Last year’s event raised £4,000 for the charity which helps journalists and their families who fall on hard times.

A debate – ‘Broadsheet vs Broadband’ – is taking place at the London School of Economics on Thursday.

Discussants include former Newsnight editor Peter Barron, the BBC’s head of multimedia journalism Pete Clifton and head of editorial development at guardian.co.uk Neil McIntosh.

The debate will run from 6.30 – 8pm in the Wolfson Theatre.

The Grimsby Telegraph will have its own starring role in a new theatre production.

Jack Lear – an adaptation of Shakespeare’s King Lear – will feature copies of the daily in its opening scenes.

Focussing on Grimsby fishing industry, it will be on stage in Scarborough from November 8.
