HoldtheFrontPage acting publisher Paul Linford, said: “After last year’s success, we’re hoping journalists will once again be able to send in their work to show off the wealth of talent in this region.

“The articles and clips last year showed how our local news outlets can match the very best in terms of subject matter, writing, depth and grabbing the attention of readers, viewers and listeners.

“We’re now looking forward to seeing what made the news during the past 12 months.”

The awards event itself will be in October where lunch will be provided courtesy of EDF Energy, one of the largest energy companies in the UK.

A top sporting personality is being lined up to present the awards.

What on Earth is Dorset doing in the same region as London and Kent?
Does EDF Energy have no geographical knowledge at all?
Just look at a map of England for God’s sake.
If Dorset isn’t in the South West then I’m a Dutchman.
