Cardiff University journalism tutor Bob Atkins has died.

He had worked for the Cardiff School of Journalism, Media and Cultural Studies for 15 years, teaching online journalism and broadcast writing.

The 64-year-old was course director for the Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism (Broadcast Option), and had spent more than 20 years working as a journalist, editor and manager in radio and television for the BBC.

The university has set up a memorial website in his honour, where colleagues and students have been paying tribute.
