Who can fill Geri's boots?

Pop writer and committed Spice Girls fan Kim Dawson just couldn’t resist bidding when Geri Halliwell’s red platform boots came up for grabs in her local radio station’s charity auction.

Kim (20), who works in the features department of the Aberdeen Evening Express, paid £500 for the boots after outbidding four or five keen rivals.

She explained: “I met the Spice Girls in 1996 when Geri was still with them. I thought she was definitely the nicest. I think she’s been a big inspiration to me, because she’s come from nothing to do what she loves and be succesful and I can really relate to that.”

Fortunately, Kim has dainty feet like her heroine and the size three boots fit her perfectly. But she doesn’t plan to do much walking in them.

“They are autographed underneath and I don’t want to rub that off, so a friend is making me a cabinet to display them in,” said Kim.

Kim, who started writing for the Evening Express when she was 15 and still at school, already has a big collection of signed books, photos and albums gathered during her celebrity interviews. But nothing can top the boots in her eyes.
