Weekly's 'super' bid to help raise £2m

Weston-super-Mare paper the Weston & Somerset Mercury is hoping the town can live up to its ‘super’ name and raise £2m for new children’s health facilities.

The Archant-owned newspaper helped launch the Weston Super Kids Appeal, and will be working closely with the appeal’s organisers to ensure the target is hit.

The money is needed to create new children’s facilities at Weston General Hospital, and these will include a purpose-built day ward for sick children and a specialist outpatients’ department.
