A salesman from the Doncaster Free Press has won two top prizes in the South Yorkshire Newspapers Advertising Awards.

Gary Blurton won the award for bringing the most new advertising business to the company, and he was a runner-up in the Salesperson of the Year category.

He was presented with a trophy and a £500 holiday voucher, which he has already used to book a holiday on the Canary Island of Fuerteventura with his wife Rachel.

The display advertising salesman Gary said: “I am very pleased to win these awards because I really enjoy working for the newspaper.”

He received the trophy from sales and marketing director for South Yorkshire Newspapers David Smith.

The title of Salesperson of the Year was awarded to Kathy Leeming of the company’s Goole Courier.
