A winner named Luck has scooped one of the biggest regional newspaper competition prizes of the year – and is off to Oz to see the Olympics.
Western Morning News reader Steve Luck said he was “numb with shock” after scooping the prize, worth £8,000.
Readers had to answer a series of sports questions then complete a tie-breaker on why they would like the top prize.
His winning entry read: “My cheers and shouts would roar like thunder to inspire the Brits to glory Down Under.”
The runner-up prize was an Olympic print signed by Daley Thompson, Sally Gunnell and Tessa Sanderson, with six runners-up taking home a sports kit and sports bag.
