Sister titles unveil new look

The Cambs Times and Wisbech Standard have revealed a fresh new look after undergoing a makeover.

The sister papers, published by Archant Anglia, have been given a modern, cleaner design and new content has also been introduced.

The changes include the launch of a new leisure pull-out called EG and more localised content from each of the papers core circulation areas. Sport has been moved to the back of the newspapers.

Editor Brian Asplin (pictured with the new-look titles) and his staff have been working on the re-vamp for the past three months after first consulting readers.

Brian said: “Readers and advertisers have told us what sort of local newspapers they want – and this is it.

“We have totally overhauled the content and the look of the papers to make them more appealing to a wider audience and managed to squeeze in even more local news, which is what people tell us, time and time again, they want to see more of.

“We think when people see the fresh, easy-on-the-eye look and the way we are packaging the news and information they will realise this is a very modern paper.”
