Seven out of ten used a KMG product in past seven days – survey

People are reading more of the Kent Messenger Group titles than they were a year ago, a new survey has shown.

Of those questioned, 85 per cent of adults said they were reading the same or more of the group’s paid-for titles compared to 12 months ago.

And seven out of ten people said they had used a KMG newspaper, radio station or website in the past week.

Earlier this year, KMG commissioned The Communications Clinic to produce readership surveys in the circulation/distribution areas of its weekly newspapers, with 4,455 face to face in-home interviews conducted.

The survey, which was conducted between January and June, also showed KMG’s portfolio was the first media source people turn to when looking for information on local entertainment, eating out, motoring, property or recruitment.

The groups website, Kent Online, was named as a source people visited for local news, jobs, local entertainments, cars and houses.

Almost one in three adults said that they would refer to a KMG product when looking for information on a specialist services, more than named local directories such as Thomson, the BT phone book, the Internet, Yell.com or directory enquiries.
