Senior appointments announced

The Kent Messenger Group has made three senior appointments.

On January 1, Simon Irwin will become editorial director and Simon Clubley will become advertisement director.

They are currently associate director editorial and associate director advertising but will now join the full KMG board.

Geraldine Allinson will become general manager and associate director.

Simon Irwin (left) was assistant editor of The Western Mail in Cardiff before joining KMG in 1998, when he was West Kent senior editor and editorial manager before his promotion to associate director.

He previously worked for the Derby Evening Telegraph, Radio Hallam in Sheffield, The Sheffield Star and the Coventry Evening Telegraph. He began his journalistic career as a reporter with the Mansfield Chad.

Simon Clubley (left) joined the KM Group in 1996 from the Swindon Evening Advertiser where he was deputy ad manager. He previously worked for United Newspapers, Hull Daily Mail Publications, Yorkshire Regional Newspapers, and the Sunday Correspondent.

Geraldine (right) will expand her role in the company in the new position of general manager and associate director. Her increased responsibilities include personnel, training, information technology and services. She joined the KMG in 1993 and has held a number of senior positions.
