Sales success at Chronicle

The Barnsley Chronicle is celebrating reaching its highest sales figures in 20 years.

The unaudited figures show 100,000 readers enjoyed Yorkshire’s biggest weekly newspaper last year, meaning an average 40,472 copies were bought each week.

Editor Robert Cockroft said: “It’s thank to our readers that the Chronicle has made such a strong start to the new millennium. It’s great news, which is exactly what business is all about.”
