Revenues growth expected at Trinity Mirror

Trinity Mirror is expecting advertising and circulation revenues across all its businesses to have improved on last year, according to its latest trading update.

The group, which publishes more than 250 titles, has said that overall advertising revenues for the first half of the year, excluding the Irish titles which it sold in January, are expected to be up by 5.1 per cent year on year.

The regionals division, which publishes newspapers such as the Birmingham Post, Birmingham Evening Mail, Liverpool Daily Post, Liverpool Echo, Huddersfield Daily Examiner, Western Mail and South Wales Echo as well as digital media, is expected to see advertising revenues rise by six per cent.

Circulation revenues for the group are also expected to be up, by 6.2 per cent on last year, with regional newspapers seeing an increase of 3.9 per cent.

The group’s national newspapers, sports newspapers and magazines and exhibitions are all also expected to see increases, thanks to increased cover prices which have been partially offset by circulation declines.

The update was announced in advance of interim results due next month.
