Report sparks charity run in France

A report in the Exeter Express and Echo has prompted a fund-raising run in France.

French teacher Rachel Cox plans to run in the Paris Marathon next month and decided to donate cash from sponsorship to an Exeter girl who lost her legs through meningitis.

Rachel (28), who works at Nanterre University, was visiting her family in Exeter when she read about five-year-old Charley Harris in the Express and Echo. The five-year-old is now learning to walk on artificial legs.

Rachel’s family hopes to raise £100 for a trust fund set up to help Charley when she is older.
