Puppy power at the Post

A reporter for the Bristol Evening Post has made the headlines after she found and rescued a litter of abandoned puppies.

Catherine Hole spotted the two-month-old cross-collie terriers wandering by the side of the road.

And, after failing to find their mother or owner, Catherine and her boyfriend Chris Spittles – who works at the Western Daily Press – took the puppies to the security office at the Evening Post building and the RSPCA was called.

Catherine said: “I was so angry these pups were dumped right next to a main road. How could somebody do that? They could’ve taken them to the RSPCA but they left them with no protection.”

The puppies were taken to the RSPCA centre in nearby St Phillips

Veterinary nurse Natalie Rey said: “The puppies are fine. They are undernourished and they’ve got worms because they obviously haven’t been cared for. They will be rehoused and they will get new homes very quickly.”
