Scottish Radio Holdings’ press division is continuing to do well, seeing an eight per cent rise in like-for-like revenues between October and December.
Score Press, which publishes 45 local weekly newspapers in Scotland and Ireland, helped the group get off to a good start to the current financial year, with revenues from continuing activities for the whole group up 11 per cent, and like-for-like revenues up five per cent.
Chairman Lord Gordon of Strathblane also told shareholders at the group’s annual general meeting that in radio local advertising remained strong, but the national market was challenging, particularly in December.
Like-for-like radio revenues were up three per cent compared with the same period last year.
He said: “Early trading for all revenue streams looks encouraging for the second quarter. The Board therefore looks forward to a good result for the group overall, for the financial year to 30 September 2005.”
