Faster supply of readers' reprints secured

New speed and flexibility is being applied to photo services at the Express & Star newspaper after the transfer of picture sales work to digital photography firm dipinto.co.uk.

The Leamington firm has won the contract to supply digital re-prints of the pictures that appear in all the regional editions of the Express & Star.

Customers can order photo in person, over the telephone or via the Internet, and thanks to digital technology will receive their prints quickly.

Dipinto is already working with other leading newspapers including the Birmingham Post & Mail Group, Derby Evening Telegraph, The Observer Group, Midland Media Group and Leamington Courier and is in talks with several others spread around the country, from Dorset to Aberdeen.

Commercial director Declan Mellett said: “Today’s newspapers use highly advanced communications technology and their pictures are taken almost exclusively with digital cameras. It gives them the speed and flexibility that is vital in the newspaper industry of the 21st century.

“We are able to complement that sophistication, and provide them with the high quality digitally printed copies their pictures deserve while removing the hassle of in-house printing and creating a no-risk income stream.”

As well as purchasing prints of published photographs, through dipinto.co.uk readers can also have their favourite picture emblazoned on mugs, t-shirts and mouse mats.
