Former Evening Herald editor Geoffrey Irish and his wife, Kay, have celebrated their diamond wedding.
The couple are well-known in the Plymouth area because of Geoffrey’s work and that of his wife, a community nursing sister for more than 30 years.

A wedding couple issued a “no presents” plea to boost the North Devon Journal/Children’s Hospice New Wing Appeal.
Before they added up the cash given, the appeal stood at more than £7,000, thanks to efforts from readers, a company social club account left over after the club closed, and other cash gifts.
