PA Group has announced that its photography arm, EMPICS will be renamed as PA Photos. A corporate website has been unveiled in anticipation of the change at www.thepagroup.com/pa-photos
PA managing director Steven Brown said: “EMPICS was acquired by The Press Association in 2004. The business has grown successfully and is one of the leading editorial picture agencies in the UK. The team increasingly works in partnership with other PA Group companies to satisfy the needs of the media, rights owners, publicists and commercial clients in the UK and around the world.”

Writer and PR director Elliseva Sayers has died in hospital aged 95 after an illness of several months.
She was a long-time resident of New York, after leaving a successful career as a Fleet Street reporter.
Born in Cork to parents who emigrated from Russia, as an undergraduate she contributed regular book reviews to the Irish Times and after graduating, was invited to write a bi-weekly column for the Dublin Evening Mail. She worked for a time at the Manchester Daily Express, contributing to the Daily Mail, before moving to the United States.


The Crier in West Somerset has teamed up with Minehead bridal store Treasured Moments to organise a wedding fayre for the town for the first time in several years.
The event was held at the seaside resort’s football club and attracted around 30 exhibitors and nearly 100 visitors during the day, some of whom placed orders on the spot for services. The fayre proved so successful that exhibitors have asked The Crier to organise a repeat event in the autumn.
