MPs, newspaper readers and a town crier joined members of the National Union of Journalists as staff from Newsquest titles held a series of events as part of their campaign for better pay.
The protests in Blackburn, Bolton, Bromley, Oxford and other centres followed previous protests and lengthy industrial action last year.


A campaign in The Scotsman to support the work of Sight Savers International has raised more than £25,000 from readers – enough to restore the sight of almost 1,500 people.
