Dunfirmline Press has reported a jump in full-year profits of 71 per cent, reaching £1.996m, compared with £1.16m a year earlier.
The company publishes six regional newspapers, while its subsidiary, Clyde and Forth Press, owns 14 titles, including the Greenock Telegraph.

Magistrates decided not to ban publication of a defendant’s address after an intervention in court by Scarborough Evening News reporter Richard Harris.
He argued to Scarborough magistrates that justice should be performed in public, and that agreeing to the defendant’s application would have given her a veil of anonymity.
