The Western Telegraph has launched a new paper, Pembrokeshire Sports Monthly.
The Newsquest-owned title is the biggest selling weekly newspaper in Wales.
It is believed to be the first weekly paper in Wales to publish a 24-page colour paper purely dedicated to sports lovers. The first issue has an exclusive double-page sporting spotlight interview with current Ospreys and Wales rugby international Jonathan Thomas.
It also covers a host of other sports such as football, cricket, golf, triathlon, shooting, fishing, tennis, plus a six-page junior section.
Pembrokeshire Sports Monthly also includes special features such as “your favourite golf course”, disability sports, unsung hero and team of the month.
A women’s page and betting column are also among the treats on offer… and sports editor Gordon Thomas, with sports writer Bill Carne, have a lively debate on the back page backchat column on whether drawn matches should stay or go in their local cricket league.
Publisher Peter John says the paper has been a big success: “It beat its ad revenue and profit target and the feedback from readers and advertisers has been fantastic.”
