A new free newspaper is hitting the streets in West Yorkshire.
Journalist Graham Smith has set up the Aireborough Advertiser, which covers the Yeadon, Guiseley and Rawdon area near Leeds/Bradford Airport.
It’s a magazine-style paper printed on A4 paper and produced by a team of three people.
Advertisers are showing interest in its potential and readers are already waiting for the second edition.
Graham, a journalist of 28 years, said: “We are a new, small and modest monthly publication in West Yorkshire.
“Our circulation area is one that borders on the edges of a couple of other weekly publications.
“The content is a mixture of features, regular columns and general interest material. As well as doing well at the business end of things, we also aim to give people a good read.
“Quite often a free publication is a lot of adverts with a few press releases in between but we’re steering away from that.
“We’ve had a good response from the public. One elderly man came in to see us straight away and we’re now publishing a serialisation of his mystery stories.”
The Advertiser is being distributed through a number of selected outlets and there is some delivery to people’s homes as well.
It will soon be available on the Internet at www.freezone.co.uk/mediaworldpr
