Kim's set to wow them

After five years in the Scottish regional press, Kim Dawson has told HoldTheFrontPage she has found herself on the perfect career platform.

Well, it’s a change from the perfect platform boots she sported (pictured left) in a previous story (click here) on this site.

Kim has fulfilled an ambition of moving into the national press in London by joining www.wowgo.com – a website exclusively for teenage girls.

Kim began writing a music column for the Aberdeen Evening Express when she was a 15-year-old schoolgirl.

In the five years that followed she interviewed some of the biggest names in pop including the Spice Girls, Five, Steps, Boyzone, Sterephonics, Travis and the Beastie Boys.

A massive Spice Girls fan, she successfully bid for a pair of Geri Halliwell’s outrageous platform boots in a charity auction earlier this year.

When the call came recently to join the world wide web – she couldn’t turn it down.

Kim said: “When I was approached to take on the role of Wowgo celebrity writer I naturally jumped at the chance.

“I have only been at Wowgo a couple of weeks but embracing the new media world is not only exciting but a fresh challenge too, which I am delighted to have been presented with.

“The teenage market is rapidly being recognized as THE most important area and with Wowgo as the ideal best friend for young girls I’ve found myself on a perfect career platform.”

Wowgo, which launched this summer, targets 12-to-17-year-old girls and offers five channels covering subjects ranging from health and style to current affairs and celebrity gossip.

Kim will be writing about music, movies and TV.
