A project which will explore what happens when old and new media collide is to be launched in Leeds later today.
MELD is looking to bring journalists and new media practitioners together to develop products and pitch them to industry partners.
Later this year selected journalists will be paid to attend a five-day residential lab, working on real briefs from partners such as Sky News Online associate editor Simon Bucks and Haymarket Press.
And anyone interested in taking part is being invited to learn more about the project at a networking event tonight at the Boutique Bar in Leeds.
The event will take include a short presentation by guest speaker David Gyimah, and a presentation outlining how MELD will work.
It is free to attend but you are asked to register your interest by calling Greg Povey on 0114 221 0454. The event begins at 6pm and includes free drinks and nibbles. Do you have a story about the regional press?
