Hull man is Star For a Night

A Yorkshire singing sensation brought the Hull Daily Mail’s switchboard to a standstill when he appeared on TV’s Star for a Night show – because he’s one of the paper’s motors reps!

Dozens of well-wishers phoned in to try to wish Glen Malton well and congratulate him on his performance of Sex Bomb, more usually sung by Tom Jones, which won him a place in the grand final.

But Glen’s always dreamed of being a star.

He said: “After the show was broadcast I started to receive cards of congratulations through my door.

“And at work my phone has never stopped ringing – it has been amazing.”

Glen has previously released a CD compilation From Age to Age and is hoping exposure on the BBC show could land him a career in showbiz.

He is now focused on winning the final on October 20, where he’ll be singing the same song.
