The Liverpool Echo has come to the rescue of a local man who a “holiday from hell”.
Kevin Thompson spent 13 days in a Turkish hospital after collapsing with a blood clot in his brain while staying in Marmaris.
After he was discharged, Kevin and his family were left to wait at their hotel until his insurance company arranged a flight home.
The company said they would get him on a flight at the end of the week but would not be providing a medical escort.
This prompted the Echo to get in touch with the firm which, after discussing the situation, agreed to bring Kevin home on an earlier flight with a medic by his side.
