The Cambridge Evening News has relaunched its weekly in-paper property supplement as a glossy bound 172-page magazine.
The format matches the size of its popular Country Life magazine and is a first for the UK regional press.
The initiative came after months of detailed discussions with city estate agents in what is a premium area for property.
The magazine is still free with the Thursday edition of the paper and additional copies are being sold for £1.95.
The circulation/distribution combination reaches 40,000 readers in the region.
Cambridge Newspapers managing director Andy Gough said: “The way that state agents market themselves and their properties is having to change given the growing role of the Internet in the buying process.
“Print advertising still has a vital role to play and we believe its importance and longevity will only be enhanced by this initiative.” Do you have a story about the regional press?
