Facing up to violent crime

Some of Merseyside’s ‘most wanted’ have had their mugshots printed in the Liverpool Echo.

The newspaper has teamed up with the police to appeal for help in finding suspects for violent crimes.

Each Thursday, four pictures are printed with a summary of the crime each has been linked with.

Offences range from muggings to road rage, assault to robbery.

Readers are urged to phone a special crimestoppers number if they have information on any of the suspects.

And as an extra incentive, cash rewards are on offer for a tip-off which leads to an arrest.

The first appeal was published a week ago and resulted in one of the suspects turning himself in.

The second appeal has just been published and the newspaper plans to continue the campaign throughout Christmas and New Year.
