Chronicle's Colin Moth retires

Colin Moth has retired from the Essex Chronicle after 49 years with the company.

Past and present staff and directors from the paper gathered to wish Colin well at his retirement presentation, where he received a digital camera.

Colin began his career with the Chronicle as an apprentice compositor and progressed to become the company’s computer systems manager.

When the hot metal printing system was phased out he became involved in computers and as technology advanced he was involved in the management of four different systems.

Colin also met his wife Mary through his work, when she worked as a receptionist for the paper.
