Cash pours in for Yann

An Aberdeen Evening Express story about the heart-rending plight of a three-year-old boy has resulted in a major fund-raising effort.

Yann Chevrot suffers from a rare genetic condition – Moebius Syndrome – which causes facial paralysis.

People with Moebius Syndrome can’t smile or frown, and they often can’t blink or move their eyes from side to side. In some instances, the syndrome is also associated with physical problems in other parts of the body.

Since his story appeared, Aberdeen’s Metro Hotel decided to hold a party night which raised more than £900 for the Moebius Syndrome Association. A local postman also collected £160 on his morning round.
