Car smashes through front of newspaper office

An investigation is under way after a car smashed through the glass frontage and into the reception area of the East Anglian Daily Times offices in Ipswich.

The driver had to be cut free by fire crews after the incident on Wednesday evening and was taken to hospital with suspected neck and back injuries.

A clean-up operation was quickly set in motion and despite the damage to the newspaper office it was open as usual the next day.

Police are trying to find out what caused the crash. No other vehicles were thought to have been involved.
