Web presence for charity

An appeal raising funds to build a children’s hospice is set to reach people around the world with the launch of a new website.

The Donna Louise Trust, backed by the Stoke Sentinel, needs to raise £5m to build the hospice for families of sick children. It will need a further £1m-a-year to run the service.

The hospice will care for sick children and their families, allowing them time to be together as well as for professional care.

The appeal has already reached the halfway mark, with the total standing at more than £2,523,000, and it is hoped the website will allow even more people to become involved in fundraising activities.

London-based firm CF2 designed the site free of charge and creative director Matt Watson said: “We do so many jobs for corporate clients and this was a great opportunity to use our skills to help raise funds for such a worthwhile cause.

“Hopefully this will bring national and international awareness to the campaign which has done so well in Staffordshire and South Cheshire.”

Fundraising director for the Trust Glyn Berwick said: “We are delighted with the way the site has turned out. It is bright, friendly and welcoming – reflecting our aim for the hospice.”
