A decision has been made on whether Lincoln has won funding for a new City and County Museum.

But the people of Lincolnshire won’t be finding out the result until August 9.

The Lincolnshire Echo has backed a campaign for the centre and a bid has been made to the Heritage Lottery Fund.

It is standard procedure to embargo news of a bid’s success and The Echo has promised to break the news.

Local authorities in the area have bid for a total of £6.2m Lottery cash towards the £10.5m project.
