Telegraph calls on readers to 'bring a pound to work'

The Peterborough Evening Telegraph has declared July 19 ‘Bring a Pound to Work Day’, in a bid to raise thousands of pounds for the city’s health services.

The paper is asking people to take a pound coin with them to work and donate it to its campaign, with all the money going to buy an extra baby heart monitor for the maternity ward at Peterborough District Hospital.

It is also hoped enough money will be raised to give the waiting area of the accident and emergency department a make-over.

The Evening Telegraph is running the £14,000 appeal in partnership with radio station Lite FM, and on July 19 staff from the paper, the radio station and volunteers from the hospital, will visit all the companies taking part to collect the money.
