The Derby Evening Telegraph is planning to bring speeding traffic to a crawl – with bunches of flowers.
As part of a campaign to cut the number of road deaths around Derbyshire, the paper has launched its Think First campaign.
And the latest move is to plant a summer flower display on a sloping flower beds that will catch the eye of hundreds of commuters every day.
It will include the Think First Logo and the message: “Let’s Drive Death Off Derbyshire’s Roads”.
Telegraph editor Mike Norton said: “This is great news for the campaign.
“We’re trying to convey a very simple message – if everyone who uses the roads thinks a little more carefully, the dreadful toll of death and injury can be reduced.”
