Readers asked to find answers

Road bosses have promised to look at readers suggestions to improve traffic safety in a Buckinghamshire town centre.

The officials have responded to a campaign in the Bucks Free Press in a bid to prevent another tragic lorry crash in High Wycombe.

The move comes after the deaths of two people when a lorry lost control on Amersham Hill last month and ploughed into the window of an estate agency.

The county council highways department has been inundated with people contacting staff about the area and the newspaper is asking people to write in to help find a solution.

The hill has had a long history of crashes – although the cause of the latest is still under investigation.

Suggestions for improvements have included speed restrictions, warning signs and even a run-off area.
