Exam pressure eased

A partnership between a local education authority and an evening paper launched a new revision guide to help youngsters preparing to sit their GCSEs.

It was part of the Hull Daily Mail’s Moving On Up initiative to ease the pressure of exams.

The revision guide was handed out to every 16-year-old GCSE candidate in the city – around 3,000 in all.

This year’s guide, which follows a similar one brought out last year, was accompanied by a leaflet for parents. All the material for both publications was put together by city teachers and education authority advisors.

Hull Daily Mail design editor Alex Leys turned their work into a colourful guide on everything the children and parents needed to know.

The partnership that produced the guide included sponsors BAe Systems, Modern Apprenticeships, Wilberforce College, Smith & Nephew, North Humberside Motor Trades Group Training Association, The Hull Daily Mail and the local education authority.
