The Cancer Fund, run by the South Wales Evening Post, has had its total boosted by a donation by one of the areas veteran fundraisers.

Margaret Thrush, (59), has raised more than £100,000 over the years for different charities since she began her fundraising at the age of 15.

She has teamed up with a local pub which is already raising money for the fund by selling raffle tickets to win a rugby ball signed by the Welsh rugby team.

Margaret said: “I will be going to every pub in Mumbles and I want to go around the houses in Newton and Caswell.

“I’m delighted to be raising money for the Evening Post Cancer Fund. I intend to work on this one right through the summer.”

The fund is raising money towards the completion of the South West Wales Cancer Centre.
