Dalmatian sunshine date

An evening in the company of celebrities is on offer as part of the Newcastle Evening Chronicle’s push to raise money for its Sunshine Fund.

Tickets for the North East premiere of 102 Dalmatians on December 7 are being offered at a cut-price rate of £5 with all the money going to the charity fund.

The film stars Glenn Close and Gerard Depardieu and a host of North East celebrities have been invited.

And to add to the gala atmosphere, the organisers have urged the celebrities to dress as their favourite Disney character for the occasion.

Eight hundred tickets are available for the evening and The Odeon has promised that all money raised will be donated to the charity.

General manager Peter Talbot said: “We have been looking to do a premiere for the Sunshine Fund for a while but we wanted a film that was particularly appropriate for families.

“Quite often premieres are formal events but this is particularly aimed at families. That’s why we have kept the ticket prices down – we expect to make a lot of money for the Sunshine Fund.”

The Chronicle’s Sunshine Fund was established to help sick and needy children across the region.
