The Evening Express has launched a community campaign to bring help for groups that need assistance.

The paper has put together a “hit-squad” to run appeals for help when people need action in their community.

They have promised to help when scout huts need painting, meeting halls have a leaky roof or play areas need sprucing up.

By publishing the appeals they hope volunteers will come forward to donate their time or materials to the good causes.

“Our team of community reporters and photographers is pulling out all the stops on the readers’ behalf to make Aberdeen and the surrounding area a better place to live.
