Chron'll Fix It success

A community competition where a school won a new minibus through the Evening Chronicle in Newcastle is being featured in a prime-time TV advertising campaign across the north-east.

The community competition is offering local groups cash prizes as well as bigger give-aways.

Its Chron’ll Fix It Competition challenges needy groups to collect ‘Fix It’ vouchers printed in the daily paper. Groups who collect the most ‘Fix It’ points win their chosen prizes of up to £5,000.

And the competition cash fund, sponsored by local organisations including British Gas, currently stands at £60,000.

More than 250 schools, youth groups and sports clubs have registered – their pupils hoping to obtain enough tokens to transform their schools with new computers, software, internet access, books

The minibus win has captured the imagination of readers and the public and is already the subject of a new primetime television advert starring local film star Alan Gordon.
