A campaign to secure the future of a popular South Wales theatre group is being backed by more then 4,500 people – but it may be too late to save it.
The Llanelli Star begain its Save our Stars appeal after the Llanelli Youth Theatre found it would be without a home from April.
The paper wants the council to agree to rehouse the group which boasts nearly 100 members and has staged 102 plays during its 17 year life span.
Now, more than 4,500 people have signed petitions organised by the Star and the group itself.
But time is running out – the Youth Theatre has to leave its current venue on March 31 and may be forced to fold if a new venue cannot be found soon.
