Actors back Children 2000 appeal

A trio of famous TV faces is backing the Aberdeen Evening Express Children 2000 Appeal.

Nigel Havers, from Dangerfield, Roger Lloyd Pack, from Only Fools and Horses, and Barry Foster, who played detective Van Der Valk, are currently starring in Art at His Majesty’s Theatre in the city.

A major prop in the play is a blank canvas. The three stars have agreed to sign it and offer it as a prize to raise money for the appeal.

Each night, as the audience leaves the theatre, they are invited to fill in a prize draw form – for a minimum £1 donation – for their chance to win the canvas.

Theatre spokeswoman Sarah Robertson said: “The Evening Express campaign is a great way of raising money for children in the area. We hope the signed canvas can boost the Children 2000 proceeds.”
