The nominations for this year’s Newspaper Society New Media Awards have been announced, ahead of next month’s New Media Conference and Awards ceremony.

Niche sites, innovation, design and community service are among the areas recognised in the list.

The New Media Awards, on June 18-19, are sponsored by Sun Microsystems Ltd and Productivity Computer Solutions. They are now in their second year.

Winners of each of the 10 categories shortlisted will be announced at a gala dinner in York on June 19.
