Hair today…

Feature writer Emma Outten has scooped a prestigious journalism award – for the second year in a row.

She’s been named the Best Regional Writer in the Wella Hair Journalism Awards 2002. The main subject of each article entered must be hair.

Her winning story was an item in the Eastern Daily Press Saturday magazine about local stylist Jon Oliver.

Emma said: “This is an award which recognises hair and beauty writing and it is good to see that a regional newspaper such as the EDP is up there with specialist hair and beauty magazines with the quality of its articles on the subject.”

Judges included Michael Brown (ex-sub editor at The Mirror and a media trainer); Pamela Church Gibson (journalism lecturer); Lisa Armstrong (fashion editor, The Times); Sacha Mascolo (celebrity hairdresser) and Michael Douglas (Wella technical hair manager).
